Eric Nelson | Sales

Raised in Detroit, Michigan, Eric Nelson attended Michigan State University and received his degree in Parks and Recreation. He then attended Texas A&M University, where he pursued a Master’s degree while apprenticing under his horticulture professor. He graduated in 1986 with a degree in landscape architecture. Within one month, Nelson found employment with a small golf course architecture firm based in Arlington, TX. Eric Nelson’s career launched in the right place and at the right time. The golf world was booming and well-designed playing courses were high in demand. Gainfully employed for the next 22 years, Nelson traveled abroad designing courses for the sport he’s loved and played since childhood. He worked alongside many touring professionals, including Larry Nelson, Jim Colbert, Steve Elkington, Lanny Wadkins and Notah Begay. Although his golf game was not quite up to par with the pro’s, it wasn’t long before Eric Nelson became a pro in golf course architecture. Nelson’s creative talent is not only found in the courses he has designed across America, but in his oil paintings as well. Other primary hobbies include photography and, of course, golf.
