Rene Asprion graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) in May 1994, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. Rene played baseball at UTA from 1989 until 1994 while working part time as a groundskeeper on the baseball field. He began working for Diamond Pro® in November 1994, just after the company expanded distribution nationwide. Rene possesses knowledge of the skinned areas of baseball and softball fields as well as more than 15 years experience with coaches’ organizations and the sports turf industry. Rene served as President of the North Texas STMA chapter in 2001. He is currently serving on the National Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) as Commercial Director. He has consulted on several major athletic field projects and numerous field renovations in addition to writing articles on teaching about field maintenance and the special techniques for the skin area on baseball and softball fields.
